Scripture
Psalm 119:25
Observation
The Psalmist is in a great trial of affliction. It is very deep within his soul. But, he understood that his greatest need was not the problem, but was the condition of his soul. He goes to God in prayer asking God to breathe new life in him, to revive him just as God promised. He wanted his soul to be revived again to the sweet blessedness of fellowship with the Lord deep within.
Application
When you are down, when you feel so low and so broken in your spirit, who or what do you turn to revive your spirit? Food? Entertainment? Do we just give in to despair. OR do we turn to God and allow Him to do His Holy CPR on our souls and revive us. There are times when God does not ask us to be courageous and strong, but to be still and let Him do what only He can do within us.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, when we are spiritually dry, revive us according to Your Word. Blow Your breath of life into our souls and revive us! Help us to choose faithfulness and hold on tightly to Your Word, claiming Your promises. In Jesus’ Name. AMEN!
