November 14 – Praise and Gratitude Day 14

In November, we are spending 30 days in praise and gratitude of our Almighty God as we prepare ourselves for the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons. This reading plan comes from Sarah Ann at the Proverbs 31 Mentor blog (

You can join us in this study by reading today’s scripture below and journaling about it using SOAP (click on the “What’s SOAP?” link above to learn more). Below today’s scripture is an example SOAP from our team. Feel free to share your SOAP in the comments too! Whether it’s your first time reading the Bible or you’ve been doing daily devotions for decades, God will use this One Thing to speak to you.

I am thankful for God’s character — Strength

Isaiah 40:29 – He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
1 Chronicles 16:11 – Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.
Psalm 18:32 – It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure.
Psalm 28:7 – The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.

His Strength | Marianne Toovey

Psalm 28:7

I don’t need to be strong because God already is and He’s got everything under control.

These past few months haven’t been my favorite. But God has been there, holding my hand the whole time. Trusting is hard, but it’s rewarding! I’ve never felt more joy and peace in my trials before. So I guess I should keep trusting in Him!

Lord, You are my strength and protection. I know You’re here with me and that You’re never going to leave! I trust You to work all things for my good. Thank You for handling what I can’t and for always bringing me through to the other side of my trials. You’re awesome and I love You so much! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  1. God can work in and through my weakness. Today I am weary and working through illness. Despite my weakened state He can use me for good. Dear God, please heal me but more importantly allow me to serve you despite my own weakness.
