In April and May, we are reading through the book of the prophet Isaiah. Its major themes are judgment, comfort, and hope, applicable to Jerusalem then in the 8th century B.C. and to us now. Join our study by reading today’s scripture below and journaling about it using SOAP (click on the “What’s SOAP?” link above to learn more). Below today’s scripture is an example SOAP from our team. We love hearing from you! Please use the comment section of our website to share your SOAP, thoughts or questions on the reading, or prayer requests. Everlasting Salvation for Zion
“Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness
A Good Point | Becky Newman
God is sharing His plan for eternal life — salvation. And He makes a good point: if we have eternal life with God, why would we fear anything going on in this world? God’s perspective on time is unfathomable, but He gives us a glimpse here to show us that we have hope to cling to in this world.
You are my Comfort and my Hope. My perspective is limited and is greatly influenced by what I see each day. And I see a lot of fear every day — fear of government, fear of kids growing up, fear of bullies, fear of new things, fear of death, etc. But all of these things are of this world and are temporary concerns. My salvation is forever and will have none of these fears. As I grow closer in relationship to You, You can change my perspective from worldly to eternal.
Lord, thank You for making a good point to change my limited perspective into a more eternal one. It’s sometimes easy to lose sight of my Hope when my eyes are seeing nothing but the ways of this world. Thank You for Your comfort and hope to carry me through.
