April 15 – Isaiah
In April and May, we are reading through the book of the prophet Isaiah. Its major themes are judgment, comfort, and hope, applicable to Jerusalem then in the 8th century B.C. and to us now. Join our study by reading today’s scripture below and journaling about it using SOAP (click on the “What’s SOAP?” link above to learn more). Below today’s scripture is an example SOAP from our team. A Prophecy Against Cush
Woe to the land of whirring wings
Trust in Me, Just in Me | Marianne Toovey
Despite receiving an offer from Ethiopia to help Judah against their enemies, the Lord encourages His people to put their trust solely in Him. He alone has the power to defeat their enemies. And through this act of faith, they’ll see that one day these Ethiopian people will turn to God as well.
People are always quick to judge Christians. The moment we slip up, outsiders tend to put that on Christianity as a whole. It’s a lot of pressure, but God can handle it. When I’m facing an attack, my response makes all the difference. So I need to put my trust in God first and foremost and let Him handle it. And soon others will see how great my God is and turn to Him too!
I want my life to be a light that leads to You. Show me how I can respond to situations in life that will make You more appealing to others. Help me to put all my trust in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
