“Come, follow me.” — Jesus (Matthew 4:19)
We are starting the new year off right by following Jesus through the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, wrapping up on Easter on April 1st. We’ll be hopping around the four gospels for a chronological perspective of Jesus’ life on earth. Jesus Is Tested in the Wilderness
Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3 The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

The Right Way To Go | Dyea Rowland
“I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.” – Psalms 32:8
Jesus ready to pick his disciples, and most of them already chosen disciples of John the Baptist. These men, familiar with Jesus’ teachings, are now being instructed to follow Jesus, and he would make them fishers of men. Now with most people living in darkness (now and then – vs. 16), most can’t see the right way to go. But with this new light and message that John had brought to the people, Jesus came to be that light and instruct the way in which we should go.
Doing wrong is like living in the dark, like going down a dead street. I want to go the right way and do the right thing, which I don’t always do. I don’t always want to hear the truth and complain that change is difficult; but Your message speaks with authority in which way not to go. Let me follow You and go the right way.
Father, this was a lazy weekend, and I was not very intentional; I put off doing all the things that You would have had me to do. Help me jump on board and get back to the right way, Your way. In Jesus’ name…Amen.
