April 24 – You Are Lovely
For the next three weeks, we will be studying our identity through God’s eyes. We will be looking at scriptural truths describing how God sees us as His children. Let these truths penetrate your being, as if God is speaking these words looking right at you. Hang these truths on your mirror so that you will see yourself through His eyes more than through the world’s eyes. Join our study by reading today’s scripture below and journaling about it focused on today’s truth using SOAP (click on the “What’s SOAP?” link above to learn more). Comments are always welcome on our website for questions, discussion, and accountability.
The End Times
“At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered. 2 Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever. 4 But you, Daniel, roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.”
I Am Lovely | Becky Newman
Daniel is receiving prophecy of the end times from a man clothed in white who is likely Jesus. In today’s reading, the concept of everlasting life is mentioned and how to get there — make sure your name’s written in the Book of Life (if you don’t know how to get your name into the Book of Life, click on the Know Jesus? tab on our website). Verse 3 is talking about those who are saved and have sought wisdom from God or have led others to Jesus and right-living through Him. In other words — those who (1) love God above all and (2) love others.
If I love You above all and love others by pointing them to Jesus, I am lovely. And You promise that Your light shining through me will be brilliant forever. “Lovely” is a matter of how I choose to love, and You are pleased when I choose to love You above all and share Your love with others.
Thank You for writing my name in the Book of Life and desiring me to be lovely in Your sight. Let my love please You.
